Re: “Shrink foster care safely with investment in social safety net” [May 23, Opinion]: The editorial on foster care jogged my memory of my first analysis challenge into the topic within the late Seventies.
I used to be a brand new younger college member in a brand new social work graduate program at Japanese Washington College. After a questionnaire, we met with the foster care social employees to get their ideas on our challenge. Your editorial brings again just one line from that assembly. A social employee stated, “We all know greater than we are able to do.”
The gaps in service — steady housing, cash for meals, well being, substance abuse and different supporting companies — live on. Will we ever muster the need to fund the main structural modifications essential to fill these gaps?
